Jeff Kleinsmith is one of Seattle's most innovative designers. Besides being the long-time art director for Sub Pop Records, Kleinsmith is a celebrated freelance designer and graphics entrepreneur, producing among other works, hundreds of concert posters for as many bands.
Jeff Kleinsmith and Jesse LeDoux
Like Batman and Robin, Frodo and Sam, Mary-Kate and Ashley, or perhaps an all-male Wonder Twins, the power of one only magnifies the other. Activate!
Jesse LeDoux
Working over seven years as an art director and designer for Seattle-based Sub Pop Records and founding member of Patent Pending Design, LeDoux created iconic album and poster artwork for such artists such as The Shins, Iron and Wine, and Hot Hot Heat before launching his own illustration/design firm LeDouxville, in 2004. With work in the permanent collection at the Experience Music Project in Seattle, his art has been exhibited nationwide and abroad. A Grammy Awards nominee, LeDoux currently works out of his studio in Providence, RI, where he continues to combine his avant-garde design sensibility with the basics, “pens, pencils and a few sheets of paper.”

11/100 POSTER RETROSPECTIVE OPENS AUGUST 5th!
Jeff Kleinsmith and Jesse LeDoux decided to start making screen printed rock posters together 11 years ago while working together in Sub Pop Record's art department. They named their endeavor Patent Pending and used it as a creative outlet and experimental conduit.
To celebrate our first 11 years, Patent Pending will have a retrospective poster show at the Design Commission Gallery in Seattle's Pioneer Square. Digging deep into the archives, this will be the first time their 11 year body of influential poster work will be seen in its (near) entirety.
Public Opening:
August 5, 2010 - 5 PM – 10 PM
